SLIDER TURTLE

It is an American turtle, and is acting as an invasive species in the North-east.

It is threatening to invade natural bodies in North East India.

North eastern water bodies are home to 21 of the 29 vulnerable native Indian species of freshwater turtles and tortoises.

It is home to 72% of the population of turtle and tortoise.

Red-eared sliders were founded by an NGO named as “Help Earth” in Deepor beel and Ugratara temple pond in Guwahati. And another theme from Mizoram from Tlwang river

It derives its name from red stripes around its ear.
