News: Due to the pandemic induced by the COVID-19, there is a widespread loss of jobs due to lockdown imposed to curtail the pandemic. Amid this joblessness, there is increased demand for the MGNREGA work, to an extent of 2.57 crore households, which is  92% higher than  the previous year. This is the highest demand since 2013.
