6 UNESCO HERITAGE SITES IN INDIA:

• Six sites in India have been included in tentative list of UNESCO cultural heritage list. These includes:

  • Ganga ghats in Varanasi

  • Temples of Kanchipuram 

  • the Satpura Tiger Reserve in Madhya Pradesh

  • Maratha military architecture in Maharashtra

  •  the Hire Bengal megalithic site in Karnataka

  • Bhedaghat-Lameta Ghat of Narmada Valley in Madhya Pradesh

• Entry in tentative list is prerequisite for entry in final list
