2-DG

2-deoxy-D-glucose (2-DG) is the name of the drug which has received emergency approval for treatment of COVID-19.

It is being developed by Institute of Nuclear Medicine and Allied Sciences, a laboratory of DRDO (Defence Research and development organisation) along with DRL.

This is developed as a public private partnership between DRDO and DRL.

It is the first therapeutic drug for treatment of COVID-19 developed indigenously.
